Adrenal glands are located just above the kidneys, they release hormones such as cortisol and adrenaline. These hormones stimulate the fight or flight response, they make your heart pump, raise blood pressure, make your brain alert and muscles tense. Cortisol raises blood sugar and suppresses inflammation but it also suppresses the immune system. When our adrenals are overworked due to stress, lack of sleep and a fast paced busy life we can feel moody, irritable, tired , exhausted and anxious. These posture can help to calm the mind and body try and hold each of them for a few minutes.
